Scoped applications such as VividCharts must be granted explicit access to tables in ServiceNow. In order to grant read access, you will have to create a cross scope privilege for the table you are trying to report against. Check out this ServiceNow article to learn how to do this.
Note: make sure you are in the VividCharts application scope when adding these.
From the dashboard detail page of your previously created dashboard record, click on the Edit Layout button. This will take you to the Page Designer for the previously created Service Portal page. This assumes that the 'Display as' field is set to 'Page' and that you have set a Primary Page for this dashboard already in the settings menu.
In the left-hand list, search for the chart widget that you are wanting to add to your Service Portal page. In the previous example, we created a Donut chart so let's search for the Donut widget and drag it into our Service Portal page layout.
Once you’ve added the Donut widget to the layout, you’ll need to link it to the VividCharts dashboard you previously created. To do this, click the pencil icon on the top-right corner of the widget you just added.
In the Dashboard field, search for and select the name of the dashboard that the chart belongs to. In the Chart field, search for and select the name of the previously created chart. Once these are selected, click the Save button. That's it, you've now added your chart to your Service Portal page and it's ready to view.
To preview the page from the dashboard detail page of your previously created dashboard record, go to the settings menu by clicking the cog-wheel icon and click 'Preview Page'. This will open your Service Portal page in a new tab. If this option is not available, it means that you have to set a Primary Portal and Primary Page for this dashboard.

The first step of adding your dashboard to a Service Portal page is to add the Dashboard Controller widget to the page and link it to your previously created dashboard. The Dashboard Controller widget acts as the data facilitator between your instance of ServiceNow and the individual chart widgets you add to the page.
From the dashboard detail page of your previously created dashboard record, go to the settings menu by clicking the cog-wheel icon and click 'Edit Layout'. This will take you to the Page Designer for the previously created Service Portal page. This assumes that you have set a Primary Page for this dashboard already in the settings menu.
In the left-hand list, search for the Dashboard Controller widget. Once you see the widget in the list, you can drag it into one of the row column layouts you have created.
Once you’ve added the Dashboard Controller widget to the layout, you’ll need to link it to the VividCharts dashboard you previously created. To do this, click the pencil icon on the top-right corner of the widget you just added.
In the Dashboard field, search for and select the name of the dashboard that you're trying to add. Once selected, click the Save button. That's it, you've now added your dashboard to your Service Portal page and it's ready to have chart widgets added.
You likely need the sp_admin role. Contact your ServiceNow admin to request access.
One way you can share a dashboard with a coworker is simply sharing the URL to the dashboard page. In this scenario you will need to make sure that the person you are sharing with has access to that page if there are role restrictions.
